David Kim, a disillusioned former F.B.I. agent, fights against a white supremacist organization called The Brethren, in order to save a young woman and her brother from racist violence. The young woman and her brother are former racists themselves, whose parents were killed during an F.B.I. raid on an armed compound for years earlier. David Kim took part in that raid, and was so horrified by the violence that he quit the Bureau. His defense of the young woman and her brother is a personal redemption for him.
